Happens in all gears. I am not sure what RPM, but it happens right around 12-15 psi.

I guess I will try the next spring.

TiAL Sport,

Can I contact you to get a new spring or exchange a spring? Let me know.

Is this under acceleration or are you trying to maintain speed by keeping the gas pedal in the same position?

It is under acceleration, when I boost. Usually this only happens when I am trying to speed up to the normal speed limit of SoCal - 80 or when I try to pass people driving slow.

The only thing I have left to try is a new spring. Hopefully, I wont have to shell out $35 bucks for a spring.

spring isn't going to make a difference, you have the correct spring for your application

can you take a video of this? i'm quite sure it's the turbo at this point

this what it is doing?

Interesting...my Synapse doesn't do what's in that video at all. The Synapse seems to have trouble when I am trying to maintain a constant speed. So if I boost to 80mph in 5th and I back off the throttle to about 20% throttle position, that's when my bov starts fluttering.

It may be like that video but it won't do that if I go WOT. It only happens partial throttle around 12 or so PSI. The BOV is awesome at WOT, holds boost and everything. But when I try to pass someone (normal passing) it will start to boost, then flutter somewhat like the video. If I stay on the gas the same way, it will buck back at me and blow off. If I let off the gas, it will blow off and I can get back on the gas.

I will take a video tonight, it may not be the best but I will try.

it isn't the bov in the vid, it's the turbo surging

Let's assume it is turbo surge. What is someone with a stock turbo supposed to do?

Cry...or get a larger T-body that may work.

I actually had the exact same problem on my GTi with the stnd TiAl 50mm... though it happened at 2-4psi 30-40% throttle mostly in 5th gear. Turbo was a t3/t4 50trim... that eventually blew and I got a 57trim with larger exh housing....problem went away.
My issue 100% was turbo surge

I already have a ported throttle body and intake manifold.

I have made sure EVERY clamp is on tight. I don't have the tools to do a boost leak, I should but that is besides the point. The ONLY thing I have changed from when I got tuned (boost leak test done then) is the BOV.

Here are the videos I took. Second one I go through 1st and 2nd, then 3rd. I am on streets so I didn't want to be too loud to attract any attention.

Thats surging which in turn makes the BOV do what it does, its like tial said being on the surge part of the compressor map. The simple solution is downshift.

Like I said in a previous post, when I downshift before the turn, partial throttle through the turn... problem occurs.

It happens in ALL gears. I don't think downshifting is a good solution. If other people aren't having this issue, there has to be a different solution.

I am experiencing the same thing with the surging of the stock 8 turbo. I am planning on going ETS T3 with prob 6262. Should the surging stop then? Anything that can help mitigate the surging besides the downshifting with the stock turbo?
