reducing spool up time with FP black
"Ohhh no you just opened a can of worms with that comment"
LoL the question is not noise but spooling sooner, I guess I should mention an o2 to dump is a tad bit on the loud side and your neighbors, your girlfriend/wife, cops pretty much everyone will hate you. But hey you should be able to spool sooner and your at least your turbo will like you.
I was told that a FP RED was too big for road racing, so i bought an FP BLACK!
2.0 4G63 Long Rod, Manley stroker Pistons, Manley 156mm rods, Cosworth M2, Dual Springs, JMF o2 Dump, Tanabe 3" turbo Back, Quartermaster Twin Disk Clutch, Brake Cooling ducts, Ferodo 2500, DBA Rotors, Mustache Bar, LW Cross Member, AEM-EMS, 1350 FIC, Lots of bushings and Swift R Springs and oh yeah FP BLACK 25psi WG

Between all the debating on o2 housings, I finally decided to go with a dump housing over a regular o2 for my build. Theres no hard evidence yet really that proves an o2 dump reduces lag and increases top end. Some say they work great, others say they dont.
Its set-up related too it seems. Dump housings have seemed to work well on, for example, an FP Black that's pushing 30psi. On a lesser setup though where a dump housing is used on an FP Green at 24psi, supposedly the dump housing is worthless and a regular o2 housing would have been the better route.

Exactly how would an O2 dump help spoolup a lot? At least to my mind the only way would be if the particular O2's DP design(diameter, bend radius) were better than whatever other DP you are comparing it to.
The dump itself would not have anything to do with spool as for quickest spoolup the WG would have to be shut anyway....so the dump tube would not come into play at all with the flapper valve shut.....would it?

they make noise and stuff so they gotta be good
