What's different? I thought they were the same. I see stock intake manifolds for sale all the time on here that say, "stock evo 8/9 intake manifold"

HMMMMM....gonna have to take a look at all the ones we have shelved. Not sure I buy that entirely. I could understand the area around the MIVEC solenoid but that would be it.

Any news? I'm as curious as anyone. I would hope the info. I got was good. I wouldn't have passed it along if I knew it wasn't... The people I got the info. from enjoy a reputation as folks who know what they are talking about.

Any concrete evidence on this? Im looking for a core to send in to MAP, and I can get an EVO 8 intake manifold and exhaust manifold for real cheap. 100 bones.. if I can find out if they are interchangeable Ill pull the trigger this weekend. Or even knowing if they'll take an 8 core for a 9, that would be great

I had this question as well. The intake manifolds are identical. How do I know? Pull the part numbers out of ASA. THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. There are 3 pages for the intake manifold which denote some differences. You have from beginning of production through 5/04. Then you have from 6/04 through 7/05. The last would be from 8/05 - through end of production. The last one is for the IX's as it translates to the '06 model years.

Part numbers for the intake manifold itself is EXACTLY the same no matter which production range you pick from. The differences will be in what MAP sensor is installed in the manifold, what brackets or bracket shapes... BUT PHYSICALLY THE MANIFOLDS ARE IDENTICAL.

Part number for all three production ranges is MN137746.

I will eat my shirt if someone can provide photographic evidence that they aren't the same. Oh, and I just looked over 9 IM's I have in my shop and I know at least 1 or 2 have to be off IX's and they all looked the same to me except for the difference in MAP sensor.

Does the MAP sensor matter if I am going to be tuned for speed density?

No because you should be replacing the MAP sensor w/ a JDM or Omni for SD.
