need help quick. sparkplugs

my car started missing BAD last night. i thought it could be a fouled plug, took the plugs out and they are toast. i have only had the car about two months and never got around to checking them. the plugs in it are NGK BPR7EIX iridiums. only mods are a 3" turbo back. intake. and boost controller (boost set at stock psi till i can afford tune ) im in utah so 4500 ish feet above sea level. are the 7's the way to go or maybe try a colder set? and what should i gap them at? this is my first time dealing with 4 cyl stuff so i have no idea what they like. its my DD so need some plugs quick!
thanks!
Dave

I used the BPR7ES, they are the copper plugs I just change them every 3k miles when I change the oil. I dont know much about the elevation factor but my mod were HKS272s, Walbro 255, JDM BOV, Intake, 3in TBE and tuned at 24psi.

Try any of the following:

BPR7ES
BR7ES
BPR8ES
BR8ES

If you can't find them locally, then try ordering them online from CLUBPLUG.net

The stock ecu can compensate for altitude differences using the barometer.

iwould have some miss firing issues with mine. i ended up gapping mine between 19 and 20 after that had no problems and those were with the same plugs that you have.

found some bpr8es's somewhat locally. i gapped them at 26 cause i havent found a clear answer on what to gap them at. is that too much gap? at least now the car runs and doesnt misfire now. but i havent gotten on it hard yet.

If the car runs fine wide open with your current gap, obviously leave it, but if it still breaks up wide open, the gap needs to be smaller

Hmm, After I let idle for a few minutes and I suddenly step on the accelerator it would misfire sometimes it would sometimes it would not. On the STI a step colder on the plugs was the way to go. Now my EVO is almost stock except for a ARC induction box. It has 48K miles. I just bought it used and I have not checked the plugs yet but I think I should replace them. What is the OEM plug? Aside form the filters what other things do we need to change to do a tune-up?

Sorry guys this is my first time owning an Evo.

Thanks,
