I've owned an exedy twin sd and currently have a twin hd. The sd made no noise, but the hd barks like a seal. The sd is probably your best bet for daily drivability and the clutch feel is very similar to stock. And if you use it according to your intentions listed in your first post, I'd say you can get well over 20k miles out of it no problem

Well like i said ACT is not an option since i have an act with 345 whp and 320 of torque and it lock me out everytime i pass 6krpm so ACT is a no no... As for the exedy twin sd i'll have to do a better research on the forum to see what people say and have experience from it... how it perform.. how much it last if it slips and at what ft/lb of torque it did... and obviously price... since right now i was almost convince by the spec stage 3+...

why is it that people tend to cheap out on important parts? its a clutch man - one of the most vital parts in the combination...

i dd my car with a twin exedy hd and yes it makes a lil noise but for the clutch to feel just a bit heavier than stock and to hold that incredible of a power level, its soooo worth the noise..

do you listen to the radio - if so just turn it up a few levels and you will never know...

my car is at 510 and 480 ft and the HD clutch holds it perfectly....

if you wanna go fast and make power, be prepared to spend the money for the right parts.

and just an FYI - i have had an ACT in my evo making 400 whp and 350-370 torque and NEVER had one time where it locked me out.... I actually didn't mind that clutch til i drove the twin exedy and then it was all over in my eyes....

Just because someone doesnt want to spend 1500+ on a clutch doesnt mean they are cheaping out.

Way to many times on this forum, I watch people seeking advice, get the same answer over and over again, which is "buy X part.....its the best money can buy" well, some of us like to be economical instead of just buying the most expensive part and hoping its the best.

I've been running a south bend 6puck in my RBZ32 making 600ft/lbs and have made over 100 drag passes cutting high 1.4 and low 1.5 60ft times...all w/out a single issue.

You Just have an ACT that was installed wrong.....I'm running my ACT with 380/380 (and up to 420tq/425hp) and its been fine. I honestly love Single plate clutches for there "cost effectiveness" in comparison to the twins.

You can get singles that will hold almost anything, there just not a user friendly as a twin or triple would be (not so much the triple).

Im not buying the cheapest part im just buying the most cost effective one like it was mention before... yes i know of the benefits of the twin but im not a kind of guy that ignore or can ignore noises because they bother me as hell is just an issue someday i'll have 2 go to a professional to get deal with jaja. But im looking for a single plate because they last more... and as i said they are more cost effective... why buy a twin if there is a single that will work as well cost less and last more??? Besides 500 now a day is not that big of hp for a DD since there are alot of people with more that dd theirs... I respect and appreciate every opinion everyone have given is just im looking for a single plate clutch and not a twin. As for the ACT i dont think it was a bad instalation since it was working perfectly fine without locking me out until one day it just started doing it so wasnt about the instalation it was about the pressure plate that i think gave up...

Spec?? Are you all kidding? Spec has proven themselves time and time again to be THE WORST clutch option for Evos.

Id try using a cooked tortilla as a clutch before I ever used a Spec clutch.

he means letting completely out on the clutch to shift......

NLTS (no-lift-to-shift).....just another acronym for powershifting

I'm using an ACT HDSS with 512/474 and I've had zero issues.
