Whats the max hp & tq Crower I beams are good for? I read 700+whp on one site then buschur uses them in his stage 3 block. which people on here have push over 900whp on stage 3 br block.

I would still be worried, there are other things to consider at that level but torque doesnt tend to be one of them.

A local 2.3 with that combo made 490 tq at 775whp with 38-39psi. Not sure that I would be worried about breaking rods at that level

If these are Crower (not Brian Crower) billet I-beam rods, let's just say that if you manage to break one, it almost certainly won't be the fault of the rod.

God hating me

Just make sure your i's are dotted, t's are crossed, and the tune is not rushed. Its all about how well you do the prep to make the power. The power itself isnt what causes the failure its not taking the time and understanding what the data means when you get it (datalogs).

Not a fan of 900+hp and high RPM on steel rods myself.. I like those rods to 750 or so then we go to aluminum.. So far the GRP aluminum rods have been so stout we cant kill them..

Im only going to be reving 7.5-8k definetaly not over 8k. I figure 800whp should get me 8's, sense a 3g is lighter than a evo, and Im planning on going rwd.

I think it actually may be even much larger than that, but I'm curious.

My 6-bolt data shows a GRP at 470g and a Manley TT at 690g, which would be over 200g difference!

You'll have to rev way over 8k to run 8's.

Not with a a gm tranny and rear end. All it takes is the right gearing.
