i was out tuning the other day and i thought i blew the head gasket but the blades broke off the fan and took out the radiator. there was nothing that the blades could have hit. anyone seen this before?

 

Wow never seen that before no tools got wedged down in the fan shroud did they?

I remember someone else on evom that had that happen a while back.
I check the fan at every oil change to see if any stress cracks are forming on the fan blades and hub. Plastic tends to get brittle/crack when subjected to heat and stress over time.

 

Was the manifold heat shield on?

i sware no tools and it has the heat shield on.

 

the the fan stay on when your car was off cause thats what my car is doing right now but with the dam a/c fan again after it blew up lol
