Replaced PS pump now I have no PS at all

with my old pump i had no power steering at idle but it would work fine on the move so i figure my pump is starting to go out and only pushed enough fluid with the RPMs up. i swapped in a different pump and now i have no power steering at all. i have tried several methods for bleeding the system since it seems like everyone i talk to has a different method. i have been assured that the pump i put in works fine so is it possible there is still just air trapped in the system? i don't have any more bubbles coming out of the reservoir but should i keep going through the bleeding procedure and eventually my PS will just start working? this thing sucks to drive with no PS and i am leaving friday for a week long trip 14 hours north .

Crack the pressure line loose with engine off to let out trapped air. Hose from pump to rack. That should help.

and make sure you steer the rack back and forth to work the fluid through the lines and the air out of the system with the car running.

I tried everything I could think of, even tried vacuum bleeding and still nothing. Guess the old pump goes back in tonight. What a PITA.

thanks for all the help guys, i figured out the problem. stupid human error. the pulley shaft in the pump i bought was bent during shipping so i swapped mine into the new pump...when i did i missed one key step putting it back together. there is a small metal dowel pin that goes through the hole circled below that needs to seat into the bottom part of the pump. i had the dowel through the hole but not seated properly when i reassembled it. i got lucky when i took it back apart and noticed my mistake.
