Worth noting is that paint probably isn't going to effect anything more the like 1/4" into the core. I don't have any empirical proof, but the front surface of the IC is not really that great a percentage of the surface area.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that anodizing it Go-Fastah red will increase the speed of any vehicle it is attached to.
