Are you asking about porting by hand? I would say don't do it yourself.. From what Ive heard an incorrectly ported head will either hurt you power wise or not make **** for gains. Regardless, unless you have something like a 35r or bigger it wont really be worth it financially to port the head for the minimal gains youll see on anything smaller. Even the oversized valves arent really necessary as I was informed by headgames that youll only experience a few horsepower gains by switching to larger valves. But Im no expert and you may have some big turbo setup lol. Just dont do it yourself.. A CNC port is the "better safe than sorry" option IMO.

I was reading on another thread, that +1mm oversized valves will loose power if you don't do a port and polish.

But my question is, I'm having a machine shop do mine and I'm not sure if there a certain amount of air to have when your done. Is there a spec when it comes to doing that for evo heads?

As was stated above. The stock EVO head flows very well, so its not only the head port and polish and running oversized valves that will matter, but cam selection as well. Something with enough lift to take advantage of the larger ports..and a large turbo....etc

I remember in another thread it was explained very well (i'm probably butchering it)
