FP Red to FP Black

Yes I have used the search engine and I don't want to bug FP with this question because it may have been answered already but here it is. I want to know if I can send my red in and have it changed to a shade of black. After watching a buddy of mine run 11.19@128 on the stock 83,000 mile motor (good job Timmay081 and evodude32)with this turbo in horrible air conditions and hot *** temps, I am more than interested. Especially if it is within my budget. I went 11.22@126 at the same track on the same day with a 2.3 and the FP red..trapped over 100 in the 1/8th but I should have gone out the back door faster...I think the little red is out of breath on this stroker and the black would perform much better on the top end. Thanks!

I don't think you'll see much of a power increase at 8k... just everywhere from 4k-7k.

The black uses the same turbine housing as the red, so its limited in that aspect. You will go faster with the black and make more power... HOWEVER I wouldn't say that you're going to improve your high RPM power as you would by switching to a straight HTA35R. (due to the turbine wheel/housing restriction)

And yes you can send your red in to get upgraded to a black.

I would think you could trap a bit higher with the Red on E85 with your setup... I ran an 11.1@129 on a stock longblock (no cams) on street tires...full weight. There's more in your setup

I believe if I had a 2.0 I would have ran faster (at least mph)...in those weather conditions that turbo just seems to be plain out of breath.

NO SIRR IM NOT BSING YOU HERE YOU GO. IT SAT THERE FOR LIKE ALMOST A YEAR I TRIED TO SELL IT AT A STUPID LOSS AND STILL WAS GETTING LOWBALLED SO I WAS GOING TO LEAVE IT THERE UNTIL ROBERT FROM FP CONTACTED ME and offered to give me a fp black for it and i buy the install kit being i had evo 8. I got it just for show as at the time fp reds were extremely hard to come by. so then my fp black over threw the government and came into power. Took the reds spot holding up my Garage hrs kevlar carbon fiber splitter. now JMS Racing has it bolted to my car SITTING THERE COLLECTING DUST lol. my wheel has not even spun one time on either turbo

How do you think i have the record for the fastest closet on evom i had a full build in my closet head motor turbo you name it was sitting there.
