Stage 2 Transfer Case Rebuild

Hey Guys,

Today my transfer case arrived at ShepTrans for a new ring & pinion and stage 2 rebuild. I was curious to know what the minimum amount of time/miles I should drive easy for until the gears have had time to bed in. Shep's site says for a few hundred miles but on TRE's website they talk about a couple thousand miles...

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I just bought an Evo yesterday with a bad t/c and am getting the exact same setup as you. I talked to the owner of TRE and he really seemed to know his stuff... went on a 15 minute rant about how much Mitsubishi pissed him off with their t/c.

I would listen to basically whatever he says.

If nothing else, better safe than sorry.

Shep wouldnt be in business and one of the, if not the biggest name in the Evo world for drivetrains if he wasnt correct about break in, what he says for his products rest assured is correct.

Jon at TRE is like an encyclopedia but hes sooooooo hard to get in touch with. It took me 5 weeks to get an email back from him one time, then he was available for 3 days straight to talk with, then disappeared again lol
