Transmission overhaul
Transmission overhaul
So here goes I have a 95 JDM EVO III and the syncro is shot for 3rd gear. So i have ordered a syncro kit and rebuild set. I have a rebuild manual for my W5M33, and I have some experience with manual transmissions. So it should go fine, that being said, any input or tricks are welcome as this is the first time I've R&R'd on an EVO.
Just follow the manual. Oh yeah. If you only had a bad synchro, reuse the same spacers that were in the transmission. No need to change them and mess up your clearances. To tight of a clearance will make the trans very difficult to shift.
Getting the tc out of the way was pretty easy when I did my clutch.
The transmission was much more of a pain in the butt because of the amount of space(I didn't remove the subframe), but you can get it out.
