Your intake, bov, and UICP need to be congruent.

If you're going to run the stock diverter valve (stock 9 one is actually quite nice) you have a few options.

Intake: you can run the stock tube or a Samco replacement. I've done both.
Bov: I would recommend using your stock 9 valve.
UICP: stock upper pipe with factory hoses. I would upgrade the clamps to t-bolt clamps. Silicon Intakes.com sells a complete t-bolt clamp kit for your car.

If you want to run your HKS SSQV... it requires a bit more work. Most aftermarket UICP (upper intercooler pipes) are what we call "short route" meaning they cut across the engine bay instead of going around things. This short route requires a mini-battery and mini-battery or all together relocation of the battery.

Mini-Battery tray kit: I recommend Nisei. I have it on my car
Mini-Battery: Odyssey PCS680
UICP: ETS (Extreme Turbo Systems): Call and ask for Michael... tell him what bov you have...done!
Intake: ETS Since you're not recirculating your bov with the SSQV...you'll need to plug your aftermarket intake or get one without the port on it. I would recommend the ETS intake tube.
BOV: SSQV (that was the whole reason for the rest of the crap right?) lol

I hope that explains things better.

When in doubt... never cut or modify... you're most likely wrong. Especially when you buy expensive parts not made in someone's garage

Also that is NOT the right battery for your car. Your positive terminal is VERY close to your bov... I see a shorted power supply in your future. You need to cover your positive terminal as well with the factory plastic piece.

If you need to purchase some OEM parts... hit up Russell@Mitsubishiparts.net He'll take care of you
- Contact Russell: Done! (oem bov will replace the garbage ssqv)

- Protect Positive terminal : In progress!

-Mini battery : Not required with the Injen UICP. However i will replace mine with a better battery soon enough.

as far for that cap on the intake... (someone used a plastic cap, which is leaking 100%) and not safe, I would use cap from auto-parts store which they use for coolant hoses to cap it.... It is a rubber cap with the bolt on the top.

Please get evo ix divider asap...just hurts my eyes, and replace that ugly upper pipe with oem.

Question : Any reason why the oem bov has a return inside the intake? Doesnt it send hot air and oil inside your turbo?

I think he meant to type Diverter, as in Diverter Valve ( BOV = Diverter Valve )

It returns the metered air back into the intake because it has already calculated it would be there.

There shouldn't be any oil at that point, But the Crankcase vent line that runs from your valve cover to your intake does let some oil into the intake (blow by).

Your OEM BOV / DV is shipped check your pm's

Question : The 'Service Engine Soon' light just pop up this morning... Could it be because I emptied the cat 2 weeks ago? I read there is a sensor right before and after the cat and now the second sensor is reading the same thing as the first sensor which is not OK since the cat should be doing is job and get cleaner exhaust going to the second sensor.

If so, why did it take the sensor about 2 weeks to wake up and find out about it??

Is there any way I can read the warning code without going to mitsu since im in Canada and here they dont know what an evo 9 is.. ?
