Motor Mounts??? Worth it???

I am looking to get rid of that annoying unsettling jerk the evo's tend to have when accelerating in first then letting off the gas. I figure it is more pronounced due to the AWD system in our cars but figured motor mounts MIGHT take care of the issue. If so, for those who have experience with them whats the softest available and which motor mounts are the ones to replace? Do not want to introduce anymore rattling inside the cabin so I would like to keep it tame if possible this is my DD.

yes they do help alot with the jerking. all polyurothane mounts are pretty hard though. u might want to look into a torque dampner and just a front motor mount

How many miles are on your evo? I would start off with the front lower mount that alot of folks do and see how you like it.

The front lower will help alot on off and on the throttle response, the jerking-ness of the motor, and shifting as well. Well worth it IMO. You can find 1 on here for $50-60 bucks.
Good little investment.

So the lower bottom mount like the Blox motor mount is the one to replace? I have under 30/k on the car...

i was worried about vibrations with the mounts, so i opted to just change the front first did not notice any difference in vibrations, so then installed the cam side alittle bit of vibration at idle but nothing major. seemed to really help with quick shifting and trottle response. hope this helps

The side motor mounts will add vibrations more than the front/rears.

I did the PowerFlex (purple) front and side motor mounts, but not the rear. Huge difference after the install. No longer felt like a sledgehammer hit the car on a fast 1-2 shift. At first I noticed more vibration in the car (and I didn't really like it). I can't even tell anymore. Maybe the mounts settled in, or maybe I am totally tuned out of noticing it since I am used to it . I think its a combination of both. I would highly advise this mod.

Get the Buschur lightweight front crossmember, it has the poly front motor mount built in, fits like a glove and looses over six pounds off the car.

Talk with AWD or STM about touquesolutions mounts. I have a full 4 piece set and it's awesome. Once they settle there is no real added vibration and fast shifts are so much easier

^^ I did the Torque Solutions mounts and Buschur lower crossmember. Its a rattling beast. I would guess that it will settle some, but my engine does not move... PERIOD. So those waves of excitement went somewhere... across the entire car. shifting is awesome, but the DD routine will take a toll. The recommendation to do the front roll stopper is the best with minimal added vibration throughout. I'm not a fan of them, but I would look into an engine dampner as well if you are so conscious of a little shake and bake in your ride. Good luck

Have you looked into the engine torque dampers like the Ingalls Stiffy? I have stock motor mounts with this and the condition your referring to has gone away for me. It super easy install and stiffness is adjustable.
