Maybe a silly question...

But is there a possibility to have a boost gauge reading proper boost, but still having a boost leak?

The leak could be minor enough to just be a small leak thus making the turbo work harder to achieve the 35 (for example) psi you want to run, but in fact it could be pushing air that should be holding 40psi. So your gauge could be reading right, but you are pushing the turbo to flow more than the 35 psi you are displaying. Do you understand?

Could it be a blowoff valve issue perhaps. Had trouble with mine not being tite enuff so it was basically "bleeding" off pressure the whole time. Guess it wouldnt hurt to check.
