BOV or DV??

What is the real performance trade-off inbetween a blow-off and a diverter valve. I am wondering why most the European turbos run dv's, while we are running bov's for the most part.

Please clarify....

Thanks...

The only reason to go with a BOV is because of the PSSSHHHTTT sound you get when you let off the gas. From a performance standpoint, the DV is better because it won't induce MAF misreadings... when you vent to atmosphere, you're venting air that the ECU has already metered through the MAF sensor and so you're inducing a rich condition which can cause stalling. Of course running rich is pretty safe so you're not actually hurting anything, but the car doesn't run as well.
