Hi! i`ve been searching but can`t find any good a answer, i have an USDM imported Evo 8 that has an whining sound from the transfercase and having some problems finding the rigth parts to swap it with. Since i live in Norway/Europe we have different part numbers for the EVO (UK spec car are normaly sold here).

So my qusetion is, where is the cheapes place to get a new/used on? are there any aftermarked diff`s that are better/improved? is it posseble to just get the internals and use the old box?

Im going away on holiday to Californina in 2 weeks, would be nice to just pick one up there some where and just send it back to my address in Norway.

1. Whine means ring and pinion in most cases.
2. You didn't mention if you had a 03-04 Evo 8 USDM without ACD or 05 that has ACD
3. Cars that are usually sold in Norway are EU spec - it's not the same as UK spec as EU spec is LHD, has rear foglights etc... There's many differences.
4. Yes, you can keep the box and only get the internals.

Sorry about that! i ment EU spec, not UK.. I have a USDM import Evo from 04 without ACD.

since u will be going to US i would suggest getting the shep treatment. that will assure you that you have a strong tc.

Im on holiday now and do not have axcess to my car, do anyone have the part nr for an usdm evo 8 03-04 mod without ACD? so i can compare it with the one in UK..

An other ting? The transfercase from Uk is from an evo 9 usdm without ACD, anyone know if this will fit an 04 USDEM Evo 8 without ACD?
