EVO IX TC Whine

Im really dispointed, i just got the transfer case whine on my IX MR and the car has only 37 000 miles and I was not driving it to hard

So, i dont have 2000$ to spend on that right now and I am wondering how long can it last since i got that whine

Honestly there is no telling, a friend of mine have a 05 MR and his has been whining for atleast a year and a half just waiting for it to go out and he drives his car hard. But he is to lazy to install the freshly rebuild transfer case he has sitting in his garage.

that was years ago

the death whine is like tornado siren loud like obnoxious not a little whine at 60mph

Do you only hear it in certain gears? It could also be a noisy 1st gear in the trannsmission, which apparently is common in the IX's. I had a noisy 1st gear in mine and thought that it was the t-case but after sending both the t-case and tranny out to shep, they were both fine.
