Whining at low speed?

Hi
I got my car last December and I am starting to notie there is a whining in the car at low speed. The whining disappear when the transmission in the 4th. Is that normal? Is there anyway to lower that sound? I am taking the car for normal maintenance tomorrow and I found out the stupid dealer sold the mitsubishi I had good experience with them, anyone have any experience with dealers near Chicago?

I took it today to another dealer and I told them I want to check it under warranty and they first told me it was not under warranty, then they told me the warranty does not include the service. And they wanted to charge me 600$ for transmission service.
Any suggestions please?

OP, how many miles are on your car? Is it the T-case death whine or is it coming from the transmission? Sometimes for me when I have the clutch in and my car is still in gear, I will get a whining sound from the tranny as I'm decelerating.

if it was the deathwhine it would get louder as you accelerate....from what ive seen/heard at least.....but I had this same thing im at 18k and decided to get my 30k service done at 17....the whine is now gone...I think it was just the tranny fluid needing changed.....but I also had my tcase and both dif fluids changed so it could be any of them

put the windows down and put the car in S-sport mode. see if the noise is more present in the first 2 maybe 3 gears. mine has all ways done this. it seems that its the turbo. maybe waste-gate opening so that your not building boost do to you slacking off on throttle. should stop and soon and you press the accellerator and return after you slack back off again. keep me posted and let me know.
