slow spoolup, sometimes if the leaks to bad it will overboost and the car will feel weak. It would surely effect your a/f reading. Do you have a boost leak tester to test? Its pretty easy to do, just take off your intake and then connect a coupler to the turbo inlet and pressurize it and then listen for leaks. You could even go out and buy a bike pump and then make a leak tester and do it that way. I got my car to hold 21psi with a bike pump, once you can get your car to hold 20psi with a bike pump you know damn well your cars pretty leak free.

or buy one already done from: http://www.machv.com/macvleaktes.html

If you hear the leak and cant pin point it then use soap and water and look for the bubbles. Anything could be the cause of the leak, a loose coupler, leaky injector seal, tb shaft seals, the list goes on and on.

How do you clean/re-seat/replace those? I am boost leak testing my car right now and I've pinpointed it to the Throttle shaft. When I "rev" the shaft, the leak gets louder and quieter. Is there something I need to order?

Most times there aren't any symptoms other than slower car.

I had a boost leak right under the steering wheel where my vacuum line to my boost gauge was. Never heard it because of the engine noises covering it up, but it was very loud when I did a leak test.

And now I found I have a leak because of my injector seals. And again no symptoms other than slower car. But your car will not "feel" that slow due to the torque spike you would have. So when you first go WOT the torque spike makes you feel fast but the leak does its deed in the higher rpms.

So in the end, you have no choice but to do a leak test. Even if you already replaced all your stock clamps with t-bolts and zip tied everything.

really? try 25 pumps and I hit 21psi and it took over a half hour to go to 0psi. I used a bike pump on all 4 of my dsm's and now the evo. I cant find a good small / cheap compressor.. can you point me in the direction where to get one that is good for this particular job?

I went and got this just now on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...EOIBSA:US:1123

I figured I'll get it on ebay, because right now im waiting on a rear trans/motor mount long bolt/nut to come. 100psi should be plenty for the leak test and tire pressure adjusting I hope.
