how many quarts of oil?

how many quarts of oil?

Alright so im doing a oil change. Ive been doing atleast 5 1/2 quarts each time, but i think im doing it wrong. I think its suppose to just be 5. Let me know how much you guys put in. Thanks alot! ops and for the dip stick. How do i know when its full? Dumb questions but im going to ask it anyways. LOL!!

its 4.7 but i usually end up only adding a tad over 4 to get it full.

I used 4.7 Quarts and that was a bit too much according to the dipstick. The dipstick has two notches and when the oil level is in between the two notches you are good to go(or at least that is what the manual in the glove box says).

Should be ~4.5....Make sure to fill the oil filter (with oil) before installing...

About 4.6 to be exact and good point about filling the filter first helps get the oil to the pump super fast on the initial start up!

I eyeball it. If there's half a quart left in one of the big walmart jugs, the dipstick shows perfect oil level.

Thats when you drain all oil even in cooler. Thats what i remember.
5qts does perfect for mine with filter.

With an empty filter, I use 4.75-4.8 qts.

i saw anywhere from 4.0 all the way to 5.5.wow

mine takes 4.5 btw.

4.6 for me hits the top line on the dipstick! i believe its exactly half a quart from the bottom line to the top
