I was dead set on the red until all the results and new builds started popping up.

Big turbo fun in a stock turbo frame.

I had a FP Green, then a BBK Full from CBRD, and now Im with the Black and I LOVE the black. I have been working with a local tuner for a little bit to get the most out of the turbo and so far we have both been blown away with it. The car pulls hard as it possibly can and the turbo gives me almost max power right at 3600 or so.. Go for the black this way if you ever made major changes later on the black is still the best backbone type turbo for you.

yea 750 for a hta green conversion 999 for fp red conversion and 1200 for fp black conversion unless they changed there prices to reflect a failing economy and poor job market .

I used to have a brand new fp red never used it but it held up my custom front splitter well until the time it was traded in for a brand new fp black

There's more potential with the Black and the difference in spool is very minimal VS. the Red

for boost threshold.

what about transient response? surely the large compressor makes it more laggy than the red, simple physics

[QUOTE=MR. EVO MR;8629750]I just got my EVO 8 back this past Saturday, did a whole bunch of mods including replacing my red with the black.
my previous red tune at 25-26psi was 390whp, now with the black at the same psi im at 450whp on 93 pump, when i flip two switches and press two buttons im at 547whp on meth and 93 pump. the fun never stops!!

GL whatever you do[/QUOTE

The black is still a stock framed Turbo and requires lots of boost and a strocker to really get the full benifts out of it..as far as highway power is concerned I guess you never been in a big Turbo t 3 setup before cause its scary fast the power never ends..ever the black use to fall of after 7,000 Tom's and the top end was decent..bottom one red for street warrior and black for a little extra.

wow you really need to take a ride in mikey fp monster change that tune real quick bigger is not always better and you continue to preach that nonsense. big turbos have there place fp turbos can be monsters in autox road coursing and as proven by many shops and people Dragging. Versatile little units they are. I would love to see your 35r 37r etc put now a monster time in the auto x course or road coursing. good dragging turbos and straight line racing all day of course. The evo was made for more then that and some people need to realized this.
