Gum Out Flex-Fuel Injector Cleaner
Unfortunately It isn't 'just' the injectors, that gunk sticks to valves and intake ports as well! e85 compatible stuff is kind of hard to find, This is the first time I've ever found it on the shelf in any of the local Auto Parts stores.
To bad I manually cleaned the injectors before I found this, so it will be awhile before I will be able to report back with results.
John-

thx..
Yes, my car is set up with dual maps, its just a pain in the **** to have to pre-plan the switchover from one fuel to another. Not to mention being down a hundred horsepower while commuting in bumper-to-bumper traffic just plain doesn't feel right!

My car over time started to hesitate on gear changes and ran lean on morning startup. At first I just dialed in more accel fuel to compensate and eventually got to the point where everything was maxed out and it still ran weird. I did a data log and sent it to AEM tech support. We both suspected dirty injectors to be the problem. I went to autozone and purchased a bottle of Lucas deep injector clean. The bottle says it is compatible with all types of fuel. After about 50 miles the car started running real rich this was because the injectors was a starting to clean up. The extra tip in fuel I added over time was starting to flood the motor with fuel. I went back to my original map and all is fine now. So far the Lucas product seem to work very well for E85.

I have used gumout products before with great success. This is the first I have seen of the E85 stuff. Next time I pull my injectors if they need cleaning I will run this stuff also. About time the industry starts giving us e85 users some love.
Bringing this back from the dead. Has anybody used this and had "gasoline quality cleaning" yet?
It's not practical for every car to swap back to gas for cleaning(my 240SX for instance), and this is about the only thread around that has questions regarding the gunk E85 leaves behind.
Thanks and sorry for the resurrection.

It seems to only happen the first few months of running E85, cleans out the fuel lines and injectors and collects at the tip of the injectors. I've been running E85 since 8/1/08 and it happened the first year, after that, never again and I've been using the same station for 5-1/2 years. I do run Berryman b12 fuel treatment twice a year, I've also used Seafoam twice a years, both seem to do the job. I'm on the same injectors and switch out 255 every two years, since switching the E85, and stock fuel system. I get tuned once a years with same results, no lack in fuel and injectors perform the same as day one.
Berryman b12 fuel treatment does a great job at removing moisture and cleaning out the entire fuel system, I've used it on multiple vehicles with great results.

That's it, I tend to pull the injectors twice a year before I tune just to verify that it's not getting gunk at the tips. Berryman B12 can be purchased for any auto parts store or even Walmart, it's been around since 1950's.
