Atsugi Clutch? anyone??

Anyone ever heard of Atsugi clutch's in our car? Need a clutch for my evo VIII and a local shop mentioned that they only use this type of clutch. Haven't been able to find much information at all about this clutch let alone another evo with this clutch installed in their car...

anyone have any info about this?

Why would you want this "Atsugi" clutch anyway??? Just get an Exedy?

Atsugi/Unisia/Paraut is an Japanese OEM that produced a lot clutches for Nissan. As far as I know they were bought out by Valeo Clutch a few years ago. Since Exedy was the OEM for the EVO and has a patent on the design, you will not be finding any other standard replacement.

So are you saying the Autsugi is the standard replacement to the OEM clutch? Or are you saying that there is no standard replacement for it?

It's a local shop, I would rather have a different clutch but I guess this is the only one they use. Can't even find it anywhere to buy online.

Let me re-phrase.
Atsugi/Paraut/Unisia/Valeo (same company) does not make a clutch for the EVO since Exedy is the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) for Mitsubishi and patented the design. On the EVO other companies rebox the Exedy parts. Because of the patent, you will only see Exedy replacement parts, no matter what box they come in.
