EVO 9 oil pressure problem

Hi,

I have a stock EVO 9 and i have problem with oil pressure. Everything was changed , even got a new block and the problem still insists, oil pressure goes to 0 so i assume the problem is on the head?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

the car was imported and it was like that. When you cold start it, the oil psi is 9 bar and as the temperature goes up and psi goes down, it gets down to 3bar and on idle it goes to 0 and you can hear the rod having a party.. , as you rev oil pressure does not go up.

Parts changed twice after the car was imported and diagnosed with the problem : crank, pistons, rods, oil pump

and a few days ago a complete new block was in and still the same.

Oi pressure is measured with professional gauge at my mechanic.

Oil used : 15-50.

Thanks for your help

If your mechanic can't fix it with all you have listed as being done the problem has to be the mechanic.

bad oil pump. major cavitation from worn gears. when the viscosity drops, its introducing air into the system. its reading good while cold because the thicker oil is properly sqeezing thru the system. the tolerance between the gears have become too big to produce the proper pressure.

Do you run both Balancer shafts in the Engine?
Did you checked the rear Balancer bearings ?
Where is the Oil Pressure sender ?

Stock Evo9 should have a max of 7 Bar ( Oil is cold , @2000 RPM), 1.5 -2 Bar warm engine @ idle

In no way you can loose that much pressure in the head alone. Its somewhere in the Block.
Where are you located in Europe ?

Steffen

how did the bearings look? How about the oil pump? i would think the only way the head could be loosing the oil pressure is if it's cracked which is unlikely. Were the bearings checked for corrrect clearences?
