SPEC clutches

I was wondering if anyone has tried one of these in an Evo. I have one in my mustang and I like it alot. It has about 550 whp and 60 fts in the 1.4's. I have the SPEC stage 3. I also drive the car on the street without any problems. This clutch is becoming very popular with mustangs, I am just wondering how it is on the Evo. Thanks.

I have the stage4 with the 6puck disc with springs, it is very good and I also have it on my customer's evo 6. I had the exedy twin plate on my former evo6 and to be honest, this one engages firmer and better.

Thanks for the reply. How is the stage 4 on the street? Does it chatter or anything?

Yeah, they make them for the evo8. I've just never heard of anyone trying one on the evo8 yet. Their web site is www.speclutches.com.

I had the spec clutch and flywheel on my wrx and it was horrible. It would not grab when you launch the car and it had horrible feel...kinda reminded me of the stock evo clutch.

The clutch lasted 4500 miles til it was fried. I launched maybe 10 times at most with it and my stock clutch lasted 35k miles with atleast 100 launches at the track. I might just be the minority on this one but I wouldn't recommend spec.
