Diesel,

The difference is very noticeable on a sound system with a decent subwoofer. My wife and neighbors were able to tell the difference The major difference is the frequency of the two. One is louder at 80hz, the other is lowder at 30hz. I was able to turn my radio down 20% since the swap.

At WOT it is 1/2 as loud as before. Very low bass note. I can actually her my engine again. Wife states that the car can be hear from only one block from the house now as opposed to two.

I like the way the buschur muffler sounds more than the magnaflow. To me, the buschur is more deep, throaty, and RAW(just what i'm looking for)! Reminds me of the sound of my old neighbor's supra. That thing sounded like a space ship. If you could, get some full throttle runs on video. I'm very interested to hear what it sounds like when you're gunning it. I want my EVO to sound SCARY when i'm on it and mean when i'm daily driving

The Magnaflow muffler and tip assembly ready to just swap out for the BR lightweight muffler is $220.

mr decibel,

You said you called the shop twice with no help. What do you mean and who did you talk to?

Jarrod is great, but he hasn't installed a system on an EVO yet, so he may not have been able to give you help. Not sure if this is the case.

I went back and looked at the jig we build the systems in. I wanted to make sure there isn't a difference in how the Magnaflow muffler sits in the fixture compared to ours. There is no difference.

The two parts should fit identical. I am at a loss of what else to say. I know it is a pain in your butt, if you want to though you can send the muffler back and I can double check it in the fixture to make sure. I'll do what I have to so you'll be happy, that's for sure.

I would be glad to adjust it for free if you come by our shop anytime, I am sure you aren't in this state, just making the offer.

can you bend the hanger to make it sit right...?

Diesel,

I tried bending the hanger, helpded very little. I will be going under one last time to try to adjust for the hell of it. I really don't think it will help much, but I am a perfectionist. I will keep you posted.

Bending the hanger is not the answer unless it was somehow bent in shipping, unlikely since it is in a box.

When you get right down to it there are only two adjustments to be made to get the system lined up. The downpipe is a fixed part, no adjustment, the cat or offroad pipe is straight, no adjustment. The cat back pipe and muffler have bends in them, these are the only two parts that can effect the up and down of the muffler.

Maybe that will help, I hope so.
