REMOVE the Mobil 1 immediately if you are buying and Evo to help the motor seal and replace it with mineral oil. PERIOD. If you did not do this then smell your oil cap or dipstick and tell me does it smell like oil, or gas? If it smells like gas then I shouldn't need to tell you what that is, or why it's bad. Also why the cars make different power from one to another. Very simple. You can also do a more complicated test(like we have done for countless Evo customers) that measures in H/C the amount of gas in the oil. Very surprising results.
Thats hysterical!!!!!

What does car to car variance have to do with this guy's car? His results - 272 were right in line within a hp or two of what other evos with teh dyno flash and 3 " exhuast and stock cat make

Also - the weak and danergous Exede tune as quickly corrected by the Dyno Flash tune and a compression test - also done by Pruven the same day - verified that his engine was fully functional

The bottom lin on this is that the guy got better results with less boost and ONE HALF THE PRICE !

Its tough to argue with that !

This is very interesting and one of the only reasonable explanations of the evo to evo variation.

Some questions though...

How could Mits be so irresponsible as to load the car with synth in such a throughly understood engine? (I mean if they want to push the Mobil 1 they could just say "recommended to use Mobil 1" without having it in the pan from the factory)

Has this variation been seen in eclipses and previous cars with the 4G63?

Doesn't the major amount of break in (ring seating, etc) happen within the first few miles on the car? Most cars sold usually have about 10 miles on them. Some have 50 or more. What about these evos? Is it too late? Should we not settle for an evo with more than 1 mile on the od?

What about other cars that come from the factory with synth? Why is the evo different? Is it?

BTW - his idel problem was caused by the Exede - thats what he reports - and we have had a LOT of other similar comments regarding Exede idel problems

Our compression testing shows little or no such variations.

The car to car variance has to do with engine noise - detonation - miss fire and fuel used

NOTHING to do with oil as they all use the same oil !

I'm sorry to stupe to this level, as I've always prided myself on my demeanor, but Brett, you just came across like a jackass. Please don't visit us any more if you’re going to insult our intelligence. In your comments about peak power in this discussion, you have belittled Shiv and your shop as a whole. I don't care much for the shop myself, but am embarrassed for Shiv.

My apologies to any members I offend with this statement as it is directed at the content more so than the person. Quite simply, I don’t know him, much less enough to comment upon his personal character.

COMPRESSION TESTING???
Try a leak down Al. Or running a H/C test in the oil, or better yet something even you should be able to comprehend: stick your nose in the oil cap and see if it smells like gas?

Yep, and they are the same cars I see blowing up at the track time after time, not the 1/4 the REAL track.

Zeus you have made it abundantly clear throughout your posts that you do not like the XEDE. Please quote where I have come across like a jackass? Was it mentioning that our base map XEDE made more power than Al's tune? That is the facts. As supported by a third party dyno sheet. How is that belittling our shop or Shiv, Zeus? Please explain. Your remarks are degoratory towards me and I expect an apology posthaste as THIS member is offended by your remarks. Thank you.

Man this sure has turned into a **** fest once again. I only wanted to know what problems this person was having with the xede because I got mine about a week ago. I have also heard of the idle problem when cold but that's not too big a deal to me. Come on people, if we spent all this time HELPING each other instead of *****ING about useless bull**** we would all have better cars.
