It should, but I would check with mitsu parts if the 8 and 9 are the same though.

Not to steal the thread, but I have a similar problem. I was driving my evo and about 25 feet from coming back to my house, it stopped running. I let it coast into the driveway, stopped, started the car and it would not idle. I immediatly looked at my fuel and had half a tank. No CEL, and the car was warmed up due to me driving it to and from the store for about 10 miles. I have never had this happen before and my evo is an '03 with 105k miles. My mind first went to the turbo but when I started it again, the boost guage showed boost and vacuum. Then I though it might be the battery or alternator but the battery light would be on if it were any of those and it was not on. Then I came to the conlusion that it might be the idle control valve. I called a friend of mine and he told me to look for this post. If there is anyone that could get me some advice, I would really appreciate it. I can start the car and as long as I have the accelerator depressed, it will run. The RPMs do not flutter, it is stable at whatever the accelerator is at. If I let go of the accelerator, the engine stops running. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

To me, you blew off an intercooler pipe. Check it out. Next time it happens, disconect the MAF sensor to drive it off to the side of the road.

Let me know if you found the pipe off, usually the throttle body one.

Sorry to hear, the one on the left is def bad. You can tell by the little tabs. They are more triangular in shape(worn) also its raised up. But don't know if you messed with it.

You could always try and find a used Chrysler one from the g series engines listed.

Good luck
