Finally at 221,000 Miles I change my ISC

Okay guys, here goes. Recently my car has had a an idle problem when sitting in traffic. The idle will surge up and down from 1,500-2,500.

Today, I changed the ISC motor and noticed that it was not only worn(of course) It had a crack in the housing(see pics attached).

Just wanted to let you guys know.

Also, the fact that Mitsu wanted to charge me over $300 I thought was too high. So I cross ref. and found that the 01-05 Dodge Stratus Coupe 2.4L and 01-05 Chrysler Sebring coupe 2.4L are the same part @$108 my cost(dealer to dealer)

I just installed it today and it seems to be fine now. Just the crazy part is that price difference. I know some people will only buy OEM, but shoot.

Was it direct bolt on or did you have to modify it or the connection wires?

Hmmmm great find man

Was the part you found from the Status/Sebring models OEM Dodge/Chysler. If it was 108 is super cheap but those being such mainstream cars I'm wondering if it can be ordered in the aftermarket. From a friendly neighborhood Advanced, Auto Zone, Car Quest etc...

I bought from a Chrysler dealer down the road that our dealer works with.
I will check tomorrow and find out what the normal retail price is.

Rockauto.com has them for $229 2.4L (Vin code G)
STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # AC254 Intermotor; 3 bolt mount.

Just an update guys. Amazon has them too..

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003QWJMVM/...SIN=B003QWJMVM

The parts invoice only has SIAC254. I guess thats the part number??

Anyway, good luck. All I was saying is that you can save a few bucks just by searching the internet for info.
