I've had these IW24s for awhile.

First, you need a little less gap if you run more boost, since more boost makes it harder for the spark to jump the gap.

My car ran smoother with the new plugs, but I still get some intermittent misfire around 4500 rpm under certain circumstances. I checked the gap at install and they were about .028 or so. I may try to tighten it up a little and see if it helps.

I used to a bog at ~4500 rpm during the winter months, and I thought it was fuel cut. Now that it's summer, I think it may be misfire, not sure if it's diff cause of weather and whatnot.

I'm not sure how to change the gap, I actually broke an iridium NGK plug when trying to gap plugs for my wife's wrx...

are NGK BPR 7ES plugs good? I got them from Lancershop 4 for 13.00. They are supposed to be cooler. Should I change the gap? Help!!!!

If you're going to use copper plugs and want one step colder, get the BPR8ES. The 7ES plugs are the same heat range as stock. My car did not like them, but it loves the BPR8ES plugs.

You should be able to pick up either plug at a local aut parts store for less than $9/set and zero shipping.

Please contact your tuner to find out which plugs they recommend with your setup

Considering a stock EVO, What kind of performance improvement should I see after these type of Ralliart spark plug?

Notice that there is 3 options of heat range: 7 / 8 / 9

Some suggestion for a stock or light modded EVO (No increase in turbo PSI)?

For a stock evo, are there any real disadvantages to going to a colder IW24 vs. the stock IW22?
Will the electrodes really get fouled with daily driving, or some other disadvantage that I don't know about?
I like the advantages of a colder plug but want to make sure I won't have any problems before I order.
Thanks.

BPR8ES installed yesterday. The car feels awesome now!

I also found a problem with my car during the installation process. One of my plugs was loose and there was a fair amount of deposits in the plug boot and all over both sides of the plug.

I'm running 1.35bar. I gapped the plugs to .30 for right now because thats the closest to stock spec my feeler guage had.

I did a back-to-back stock plug .vs BR8ES more than a year ago. These AEM logs of knock sensor activity speak for themselves. These are back-to-back pulls, only home long enough to swap plugs. Same mods, same day, same gear (3rd from 2000-7500RPM), same boost (23psi), same stretch of road, etc. Bolt-ons, cams, EMS, injectors, stock turbo, stock head, stock block, etc.

Anyway, just thought they might better "show" what SILVER was saying

I had these spark plugs and I have to say they were not good AFTER about 2 hrs on the track.
Car was choking and all.
Changed it back to stock and loving it.
