Exedy Twin Rebuild

Hey Guys just wanted to know whats the procedure in rebuilding your exedy twins. I have to do mine as im now getting locked out of gears and sometimes cant even get it in first to move off. I bought the 2 new disc but I want to know if the other parts need to be replace or resurfaced and how should I check to see if they need to be. Thanks

I do not have an exedy clutch but I would try and look on their web site or call them directly.. I'm sure someone else will chime in and tell you the process....

Good Luck!

Dude I just left exedy this morning, I am having mine rebuilt, you will need both discs, Mid Plate and Pressure plate surface. You will most likely need to have your flywheel re-surfaced. About 480 for the discs, 165 for the Mid Plate and 165 for Presure Plate Surface and about 30-50 bucks to have your Flywheel re-surfaced, look at spending about 850-900 bucks total.

I have a twin disc and it is still holding. I am upgrading to GT35R setup and I hope it holds to the extra horsepower also.

When it does go out I am going with this upgrade for a triple disc push style because I hate how stiff the clutch is!

I wish it was available when I got my clutch put in, but better late than never.

Replace the plates. You'll be fine.

So I have the replacement discs. So I would need to have a machine shop resurface the flywheel and the pressure plate correct?
Wouldn't it be necessary to take off the same amount of material from both the fw and PP to prevent loosing clamping pressure?(guess that is the best word set for what im trying to say)

What is figured has to be machined it the 6 post that extend from the flywheel to maintain the pressure. I could be wrong

In what case would you need a new middle plate? Didn't think you really needed to replace those unless you lost the retaining clips.

i just had mine rebuilt by strictly modified to brand new status. LOL they got new replacement disc and pressure plate rest was fine cost 630 for them to hook me up with complete rebuild and i bought a used exedy twin for 380 off ebay. so 1010 and i got a brand new to the game clutch. Only problem was exedy was out of pressure plates in stock took 1 month and a half for them to get back in stock that was along wait and put my build on hold

Enjoy and keep us updated once your beast is running again!

P.s - All your old parts are in the same box as the clutch.

Pretty easy going environment here @ Strictly Modified.

did you put a straight edge on the top pressure plate and see if it was not warped?
