Spark plug install question

This might be an obvious question, but I would just like some peace of mind. I was removing the spark plug wire connector from one of the plugs when the metal insert pulled loose from the inside of the spark plug wire connector that fits down over the plug. After finishing the plug install, I pushed the metal insert back down into the inside of the spark plug wire connector. My question is, "Will this affect the wire since it was pulled loose from the inside of the connector?" It seemed to be fine when I cranked it and drove it around the block. I've changed out my plugs several times, but I've never seen the metal insert pull loose like that from the inside of the connector. The insert felt snug when I pushed it back down inside the connector before plugging it back up to the spark plug. Any advice is appreciated!

Replacement time. That cylinder is probably going to start misfiring if you don't.

Not necessarily true. I had the same thing happen to a car I was working on. The coil packs work just fine. It actually happened on Cyl 1&3. Boot and Coil pack. Just fixed it, put some lube on the boots, and was good to go. Haven't experienced a single issue with them.

It will be completely fine, don't even worry about it.

Thanks for the replies guys. I drove it again this morning, and it felt totally fine. I assume that those metal inserts are designed to push right up into the connector since it is so deep in there. I'm sure that you guys are right.
