I'd just go really slow try not to build up too much heat.

The slower you go the more heat that transfers into the piece.
I would attach the ground close to where I was welding and as far away from the pump seal as possible. Then weld in small increments at a time and allow the pump to cool off in between.

I definitely like the idea of modding the pump better than using an adapter and playing musical pulley spacing.

Any plans on offering a pre-modified pump Aaron? I'm sure there's quite a market out there for those who'd prefer to run without the adapter.

If the Evo 4 pump does fit, can we confirm it and get a mitsubishi part # associated with it?

welding? wow over kill.

Mine was done.. simple. 4g63 pump. and a thin piece of what was almost sheet metal between the pully and the pump to space the pully out. costs pennys and theres only one gasket.

Dont over complicate it.

Any updates with this? I'm guessing the stock 2.4 pump doesn't fit? The Evo 4 pump does? Any part numbers?
