Anyone ever had a Mangled, trashed, just plan ****ed up TOB that you couldn't get to release from the retainer clip? I'm stuck here and can't get this damn thing out, I have no clue what happened to it, but there's no way it will release, the fingers on the retainer clip are all jacked up and you can't get it to move.

 

Take out the pressure plate bolts, one at a time. Drop the transmission and clutch together. Its a PITA but doable.

the method i use is, insert screw driver between retainer and TOB like internet directions. then take second person and rotate engine over. works like a champ 99.6% of the time.

 

It's wierd...you heard the noise my tranny was making Kevin...we were both sure it was the transmission but with the way that retainer looks (all mangled), I'm not sure. So I used my Don Herring gift certificate and got a new TOB to go with the new tranny. Oh well...I wanted to use that for strippers
