Fidanza 4.3 question

I've tried searching for a bit for a review on this clutch for an evo 8 or 9 but have yet to find one. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this clutch and a small review because I'm debating buying this clutch in the near future. Thanks for your time.

Had (have?) one on my MR. Bit of a different design for 6-speed than 5 but I'll leave my feedback anyway. Pedal pressure is seriously IDENTICAL to stock. It won't give you a bigger left leg in traffic. It's more grabby than stock for sure but nothing I minded after a week or two. The best way I could describe driveability is that I had no issues but I doubt I could teach my girlfriend to drive stick with it.

Can't say how it handled abuse as it held the torque so well that my first wheelhop-excessive launch destroyed my transmission. But 8000 rpm shifts were no problem.

I think it's an underrated clutch and am considering one for my 5-speed swap. Very reasonable for daily driving.

How was the life of the Fidanza 4.3? I have read reports that the Fidanza clutches don't stand up to the test of time and can't handle the abuse that say a exedy twin clutch can. I don't know just asking a question? I will be in the market soon for a clutch and Fidanza is the way I want to go but I don't want to be swapping clutches every 5000 miles.

I agree, longevity is an issue. My stock clutch has 52k on it. Seems to be holding for the moment.

Abuse is a relative term.

I'm looking for something that will last for spirited street use and daily driver.
Sounds like the 4.3 would fit the bill.

4.3 Performance Clutch

This is one mean clutch. Your footwork better be good, it’s no walk in the park. Just because it has a torsion damper like the Three Point Two doesn’t mean it drives like it. Those are ceramic buttons attached to that puck. They provide quite a grip upon engagement. That means power is planted straight to the pavement. Don’t be scared though, it’s not going to give you a larger left leg!

Torque Capacity:
599 ft lbs

Fits:
03-06 Mitsubishi EVO 8/9 (WILL NOT FIT MR MODELS)

I can read the manufacturers description... I was hoping gary would chime in a bit... Or other users of this clutch would... A quick search of Fidanza products reveals a lot of hate for these clutches...

That description is BS. If the necessary "footwork" is too much for you, you shouldn't be driving an Evo. It's grabbier than stock but pedal feel is amazingly light.

Gary thanks for the input. Sounds like you had a positive experience.

How long did you run the clutch for?
How does it compare to stock or other after market ones on a +400 hp car?

Anyone else with personal experience please chime in.

thanks

i have the 3.2 and if the 4.3 is anything like the 3.2 its a little rough. Daily driving, or anything on a incline expect to slip the clutch. Everybody who has moved my car onto ramps at the shops/dynos has had some issues. I mean its not all that bad when you get used to it, but its def noticeable.
I'm not saying i'm a experienced driver, but i've been driving for 11 years and i've only ever driver manual transmissions, to include a 7lbs flywheel and stg 5 clutch in my svtf.

i have driven several evos with different clutch kits ....

On my car the fidanza 4.3 worked exellent since day one , its much softer than an act clutch kit ... it was able to hold over 500+ on my old fp red build.

There several things that can go wrong when a clutch kit is installed incorrectly .. u can buy the most expensive clutch kit on the market and u can damage it on the first day of use ...

FIDANZA 4.3 worked for me and has worked for several of our customers
