That Evo 9 was an FQ320 and the Evo 6 maintained its 276bhp stock form.

You should first drive a CP9A yourself so you would know where we are coming from. That is why from an Evo 7 equiped with AYC and ACD, I went back to an Evo 5.
I dont know how much that **** changes things, but my evo is actually an evo 8 and has no ayc or acd, just a gsr. ill check the videos out now.

wow the 6 was dead on with the 9 almost. but the thing is..... the 9's heavier but still maintained to only get beat by 1 car length when that 6 is how heavy with more hp? that tells me the newer evos handle better, but in a straight line stock for stock will get pulled on by a older one due to power to weight ratio. seems like the newer evos have an issue with getting loose in the rear also and the old one didnt at all.. so better balanced also? is this why the newer evo's suck at wrc?

That 6 is a GSR model running at its stock 276bhp engine. The 9 is also a GSR model equipped with SAYC/ACD but its an FQ320. So that means the 9 has 320bhp on tap.

From what I read a 6RS is 100 kilos lighter than a 6GSR and has the mechanical rear LSD and different gearing .
There were also a few versions of the TD05 twin scroll turbo inc Titanium Aluminide turbines and in one case an I think 15G compressor wheel possibly for a bit more low down punch .

From what I've been able to find out no OE Evo 6 had Bilstein dampers which of course were available on the 8MR and 9 with the PP .

CP9A's are more compact and in some cases lighter than the Cedia based CT9A , weight is critical because you don't just have to accelerate/brake the mass you have to convince it to change direction . The more pork you have the further behind the eight ball you are on all counts .

I lost interest in rallying when WRC came about . I think the most successful teams were running basically kit cars based on some small econobox stuffed full of turbo AWD driveline .
I reckon the manufacturers lost the advertising aspect of rallying because you couldn't go buy a factory road going equivalent .
Mitsy has kept selling Lancer Evos because the road going ones carry the flag for the motoring enthusiasts - you petrol heads .

I'm not really surprised that sometimes the earlier cars eat the later ones , the people on the inside claim the CP9A's were Ralliart Evo first and Mitsubishi Engineering second . They reckoned the CT's were ME first and Ralliart bolted in second . One was a race car basis and the other re engineered to make a racer from a factory hottie road car .

We lucked out here in Australia , because like Japan we have RHD . We got a few TME6's imported through Ralliart and quite a few grey imports like JDM 6's 7's 8MR's along with various Nissans Toyotas etc . I think Mitsy brought in 8/9/10's so we have a good line up . It seems 5's are rare bird in road registered form and I think only six Evo 3's ever got plates here .

I really like my JDM GSR 6 , its got lighter wider than std wheels and modded 8MR Bilsteins are the next fix . If finances permit this HKS turbo is a good look and the RS diff a good if expensive (and lighter) upgrade .

A .

After all the reviews and feedbacks, my decision is in. It is a go for the HKS GTII, and its time to call HKS-Garage R in Singapore for the order

nice. ya from the conversations i had from you back and forth on here i can tell you wont be unhappy with the gt2. you will see full power both hp/tq by about 5500rpm in your car i would estimate and then it will just hold the hp to redline.. pretty nice little turbo for someone that wants n/a feeling in a forced induction car.

depending on your mod list it will make about 480whp tapped out on a built setup imo. thats spiking it to around 33-34psi. expect equal tq & hp with this turbo.

Thanks everyone! It made me more excited! I sent an order for an HKS GTII and an HKS R-Type intercooler with HKS pipes for a perfect fit. Sad to say though, I would have to wait for awhile as this turbokit is in demand around Asia especially in Japan, but at least I am now on the list.

450whp would be perfect to me, but of course, who would not want another 30 ponnies! Though with 100 RON on our pumps, I would not be able to boost beyond 28PSI, so anything within 380whp - 450whp would be great.

I also ordered for an HKS fuel system which includes 4x 800cc HKS injectors and an HKS fuel pump. Ordered also for suspension parts and body stiffening like Cusco power braces, a Cusco cage that retains the back seat to give 2 more women a ride of their lives , and Cusco sway bars.
