please help!

So I bought an 03 gsr with 63xxx miles on the clock. When i brought the car home i realized my clutch pedal was very low to the ground. A couple days in, it was very hard to get it in gear, so i was told my clutch needs to be adjusted. Driving home one day i decided to put my foot under the pedal and pulled the clutch pedal up and it was at a somewhat normal feeling position and didnt get me any problem UNTIL TONIGHT.

I was driving home and my clutch pedal just sank to the ground. So, i pulled the pedal up and tried to pump it to give it some pressure.. no luck. Popped the hood to check the fluid and it was up to par. Pretty much i was stuck. Called a tow truck and then saw tha i was leaking fluids on the driver side?

slave, master or a bad line?

can anyone help me with opinions on what it is and what i should do?

thank you!

The slave is easy to check, squeeze the rubber boot and pop it off, is there fluid? Have someone pump the clutch and see if the rod in the slave cylinder moves at all. I just ran into an issue where I replaced my master assuming it was bad since I had swapped my slave 2 weeks ago. Turns out the piston that pushes on the rod in the slave cylinder popped all the way out of the cylinder and got stuck.

kevin, did you figure out the problem? maybe your clutch pedal needed to be adjusted but forcing the pedal up might have caused the problem

i had a similar problem.. had a small leak where the soft line meets the hard line, right on top of the tranny.. it would leak out a very small amout of fluid then suck in air and the clutch pedal started to stay down.. i replaced both of the clutch lines to fix my car.. if this is your issue, hope you have small hands, that banjo bolt on the master is a real ***** to get to

im still not actually sure what the problem was but i replaced the lower clutch line that goes into the slave today and bled the clutch, got the clutch to feel somewhat normal now. It drives fine but i think i need a clutch adjustment. So far no leaks or any feel of an air bubble in the line.. lets hope this holds up =)

Goto how to's and look at how to adjust the clutch pedal. Then follow the steps the others have mentioned about checking the other possiable issues. This can be solved more often then not if you use the SEARCH button on the top.

everything still good? glad it was something simple. I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures of the car you should get some posted up. I just picked up another evo, possibly for myself. Needs a bit of work though...
