Forge wastegate a worthy upgrade?
Forge wastegate a worthy upgrade?
Hi all,
Ive debated upgrading the stock IX WG to a forge unit. Main reason is obvious, to have the best internally mounted WG management possible for higher boost levels on the IX turbo efficiency range. Another reason is because Im debating running an external O2 dump and dont want an early opening WG. I know an EBC will help with this problem so I know the Forge will not be a one thing fix for that.
Basic question is that is it worth the money to upgrade to a Forge WG?

I installed one on my 05 8 turbo, and helped me go from holding 17/18psi at redline to holding 21/22psi at redline, along with switching the mbc to a hallmon pro rx instead of the regular hallman pro.
Spools a lott quicker now, and holds boost a lot better throughout the RPM range.

The FP WGA's, either the 18 pounder, or the 25 PSI unit are all that you really need. If you want to spend the extra cash to have the visually more pleasing Forge unit....then be my guest.
How much boost will you be running anyway?

Is this the FP WGA in discussion?

Just asking because they have this one listed and another that is $1K!
