Mobil1 0W-40 silenced the lifter tick in my Evo FWIW.

OK thanks. I will flush that thing monday. MORE knock +++ at low rpm, More lifter noise, less oil pressure.

WOW it is suppose to be a very good oil. Must be my high mileage evo as it doesn'T even remotely works as the Mobil1 HM 10w30.

I will try Redline....

Well your calls but I like the M1 4T oils because a hard worked sport bike cains its valve train harder than most if not all 4Gs would see . Also they are often oil and air cooled and suffer more uneven engine temps than liquid cooled car engines do .
My Evo 6 drove fine on the 15W50 version of this oil but the cycling in and out of the hydraulic rocker pivots tapping was mildly annoying .
I am currently using a Shell mineral diesel 10W40 oil for 1000 Km to clean everything out in a 135 Km old engine and interestingly virtually no lifter tap .
There will be a source now in Oz for the 10W40 Mobil 1 4T and fingers crossed it will run quietly as well .

Will post when its in , cheers A .

Just and update.

Just change back too Mobil1 HM 10w30 before trying Redline next and...
No more knock at low RPM, no more big hesitation on boost, just soo much better.
I don't know why and that's too bad but my car didn't like 5w40
Just from switching made all the difference for now.

Well, the best motul 8100 is the x-clean that meets the ACEA c3 specs. but your application requires 5w30. Can a thicker oil cause more lifter noise... yes, not likely but it could. Try this oil:
Total Quartz INEO MC3, is well known across the world but not the US. Their 5W30 meets the c3 specs which is the hardest spec to meet. Is a bit pricey but I know a place to get it cheap:
Total Quartz INEO MC3

Also here is a good place for Motul x-cess: Motul X-cess 5W40
