i'm looking at getting a clutch too and have the same power mods as OP. so the ACT XTSS is the one to get? why not a puck clutch?

Puck is more aggressive for normal driving. It chatters and are only mainly for high tq. I would only get one if i drag race which i dont.

Also how does the extreme clutch pedal feel compared to stock? Is it alot stiffer?

Yes it is noticeably stiffer than an oem clutch . However I got used to it rather quickly just as it was claimed in the posted links review .

From what I notice is that as it is stiffer to start pushing it slightly becomes easier on the way down . So holding it down for modulation of the clutch and slipping is not bad at all . Other experiences of clutches that are not daily friendly as far as stiffness goes , they tend to stiffen more or hold it's pressure feel through out the travel down .

So after you install it and take it for a spin you reaction will be as follows . First time pushing it in " oh i can feel the pressure difference" driving down for a couple blocks later ; " oh I don't think I feel a huge difference from oem" and a couple days later ; " damn feels just like oem " ! That's how easy it was for me to get used to it . However every one has different opinions on this .

Well i started to learn manual last year around this time with my GSX. It had a 2100 so it was a really stiff clutch to learn on. Im sure if it feels closely like the 2100 then i wont notice it that much. So this kit is not horrible for DD'ing the car?

*edit* i was talking to my friend on FB and he kept on saying "Oh that is such a stiff clutch, you will regret it just like your 6 speed".... He just got a sti so i think its us butting heads. But it did make me question it.

In my opinion it is excellent for daily driving.

Good feedback in here for users of several different clutches. I love how alot of people reference the old 2100 and 2600 pressure plates in their 1 and 2G DSM's.

The 2100 in my 1g rocked. I didnt get the act for the evo because of all the lockout issues i heard about. But if anything happens ill prob buy the act next.

you should get the act hdss

i run the act hdss and i'm about 400whp on pump and 500whp on race gas with my gt35r setup. i have about 30k milwa on this clutch with 1 drag racing day 7 acuto cross days and 1 track day it the clutch has been great

you are at a low power lever and should not get the xtss. pedal will feel heaver with the Xtreem pressur plate. The hd pressure plate feels almost like stock.
