does anyone make an intercooler with a drain for accumulated blow by oil?this would ease the task of cleaning out the oil without removing the ic or having to install a catch can. Rasta Mike.

 

I've never seen oil accumulate to the point that it would drain out, more or less just a sludge like film. I'd just get a catch can between the valve cover and intake and call it a day.

 

I decided to remove my intercooler at 55k miles to clean it out just to see how bad it was. It was a good idea but in all honesty when I took it out and cleaned it, it was already pretty clean as it was. If you can look into your pipes and ic and see oil residue to the point where you think you need a drain on your ic then maybe you need to first address a more major issue with your vehicle imo.

 

No point. At the very worst, unless you blew up a turbo or engine, the most oil your intercooler will ever have in it is a fine mist layer.
