Transmission fuild drain plug washer

I searched but could not find a definitive answer...

Does the drain plug for the transmission fluid use the exact same crush washer/gasket as the oil drain plug?

Thanks!

No, it's completely different and it's a flat washer. I tend to just re-use them tho the service manual says not to. I've never had any drain plug seepage in doing that for years...

Yeah just re-use the washer. No problems.

The washer should ALWAYS be replaced. The change interval for the tranny is long enough to definitely warrant a new washer each time. Plus, they are very inexpensive at the dealership.

It's a flat piece of metal unlike the motor oil plug crush washer... no need to replace one unless it's torn to hell. Have done over a dozen clutch changes and transmission swaps and I've never replaced a flat washer before; I've never witnessed a single leak afterward. YMMV, but I'm just honestly answering the OP's question. I hate giving the dealership any of my money, especially $3 for a stupid $0.08 washer, for example.
