how to tell a 9.8 hotside from a 10.5 hotside?

I just pulled the turbo off my evo 8 and before i posted it up for sale i wanted to check and verify what exhaust housing is on it. I know the compressor housing is stamped but im not sure if it was swapped out or not so i wanted to know how to verify the exhaust housing by itself.
Any help is appriciated thanx

its engraved on the hotside, its the last number or something like that, if its a 10.5 it should say 10.5

I have a 10.5cm^2 housing with a dual flapper as well.

There should be a number on the housing that tells you as others have said

it should be on the hot side, usually on the twin-scroll flange. It will be 9.8 or 10.5. there was actually another size that was smaller used on the GTA version but was never offered in the USDM models.

The actual turbine housing does not say or have a 9.8 or 10.5. Only thing stamped into the turbine housing is a part #. There are three different housings the dual flapper 9.8 from 03 to 04 evo 8. The 10.5 double flapper from the 05 evo 8. Which is also called the evo 8.5 due to the same size compressor housing but it has the 10.5 hotside. And finally the single flapper 10.5 from 06 to 07 evo 9s. The stamped hotside has two different part numbers I will post them when I get home. An easy way to tell is looking at the o2 housing like its on the car from the front the single flapper 10.5 will have a semi circle machined out of the flange that connects to your manifold. The evo 8 dual flapper does not. Also the dual flapper part # is considerably longer than the dual flapper. A quick reference for wat the semi circle thing I referred to is on fp website where they sell the single flapper. U can also see the part number there.

The following is the part # for the 03 to 04 stock dual flapper 9.8 hotside housing 78-13010 115. Above that number it is stamped with a 281. I also just noticed on the inside lip of the twin scroll opening closest to the compressor side it has 098 inside the opening. U would have to remove the housing to see this therefore confirming it is the 9.8 housing. Here is the link to the single flapper hotside which shows the semi circle I was talking about in the bottom picture and the part # in the top picture. http://store.forcedperformance.net/m...Lancer-Exhaust
That # is accurate as this is the number on mine and I got it from someone with a evo 9 hopes this helps.
