someone else was tuning this car and i took over due to lack of communication.. so i want to update a few things regarding the vehicle and tuning...

(his friend referred me to him and thats how i got ahold of tuning this beast.)

I received the car and owner had the following complaints;

1. wasn't making enough power
2. car randomly stalled on stop and go due to a lean spike on lift off.

so I did the following;

1. converted it over to big maps and v7 and sd
2. loaded it up with my base maps
3. set the map ve up for the omni 4 bar
4. adjusted the rpm ve accordingly
5. forced the car in open loop in the problem area and removed the lean issue entirely after getting it as close as possible adjusting the map ve & rpm ve in open loop to confirm accuracy.

So far I spent about 20 hours with the car getting it to where it is now and working very well. It now runs very smooth.

So during the tuning process i was remoted into his computer during most of the time and we dialed the fuel trims and got them closer together although the previous tuner had them pretty damn close as it was..

but as i was logged into his computer i noticed a few things.. his laptop was slow as hell (no not network related) and bloated with all kinds of random compaq application crap..

So i sent him windows 7 and a valid key that i paid for from MS and he tried to burn it and install it but was having issues so i offered him to ship it to me and i would fix it..

So he sent his laptop and i installed windows 7 on it fresh after formating HD & backing up a few things then loaded all drivers on the laptop and got everything functioning properly, then just gutted it alittle to speed it up as far as services & registry goes.

so now he has a quicker laptop + i installed another 1GB of memory in the laptop as well to help speed it up some as well. now it has a total of 2GB & quicker memory as well.

So not only am i tuning his car but now i fixed his computer also.

So we ran into another issue with boost not holding well at all.. so i had him open his external wastegate up and tell me what springs he had in it.. well it had one 7psi spring only (if i can remember), so he upgraded to two bigger springs and then off to power tuning we went;

Well the car decided to become a ***** and give us more trouble as they always tend to do.. as we were tuning up the boost we ran into spark blow out.. yes the stock ignition is done and not even modifying the dwell fixed it so he upgraded to either a spoolinup or sparktech ( i dont remember)

Now we go back to power tuning again with the new stuff installed and so far here is where the car stands now.

Car is current making the following numbers on e85 and high boost but mild timing uptop still.

i wasn't going to share this specific picture, but he had lots of people in his car during different pulls so this is the only accurate 2 pulls i have since i dont remember the weight of each run from the logs i have. he likes to get tuned with 4-5 people in his evo LOL.

For what its worth, I think the cars gonna pass 700whp without touching the boost from here.

I would like to clarify something here in regards to the number of people in the car. Its sometimes three people and one dog. Then on the later runs its just two people and one dog.

haha co captian dog!
but yea i wanna thank tom for the tuning skills he has its amazing and he's very dedicated to his work and picky about the car as a tuner should be to protect your investment, even going above and beyond by taking my computer and fixing it for me saving me tons of time/money of buying a new one..and jason for referring me to him, and being a help along the tuning process, and everyone along the way of the build it wasnt done alone thats for sure. now its time to finish this baby up and start hurting some domestic feelings.

as it sits the car pulls like a beast hitting 38 psi and holding 35 i can only imagine turning it up to hold 38+ honestly probably wont have to.
