Old FP Green vs. new 73HTA Green

I was hesitant about starting this but after spending an hour searching...

Anyways. I currently have the old style fp green. I've read the new FP Green is better but not really sure how much better they are and what are my options for upgrading.

- Should I just buy a new FP Green?

- If I sent my current one in to FP, is it possible for them to upgrade it to the newer 73HTA Green? Or are they 2 completely different turbos?

Just wondering what my options were or if I should put money elsewhere.

Thanks.

Yes you can send your OG GREEN in in to get it upgraded to a HTA GREEN, they are both based off the IX turbo, your current green flows about 47 LB./MIN while the 73HTA GREEN flows 54LB./MIN quite an upgrade if you ask me, at least a 50 AWHP advantage.

Hey thanks. That's exactly the answer I wanted to hear

Luckily I still have my stock 10.5 in the garage I can use while the green is off.

I think you'll need to run a lot more than 24 psi to see a 50 whp pick up.

Yes, the HTA Greens can be tuned to around 29 psi on 93 oct.

You should also see a positive difference in spool time on the HTA Green.

Eh, At the moment I'm not too concerned about numbers. Just wanted to see what my options were with this obsolete turbo.

Any idea how much it would be to convert the old fp green to the HTA green?

Well of course, the norm these days is around 29-30 PSI on these HTA73 GREENS all on a stock block so in that case you will see the huge gains over the old green.

Sell the Old Green and put the 10.5 on and then order HTA green up.
