Evo 9 turbo to FP HTA73 Green BB

Upgrading my stock turbo to a FP HTA73 Green ball bearing.
I'm also adding GSC S2 cams. I have all the mods to support the Green and S2 cams. Currently running 1000cc injectors, walbro 255 pump and all the other stage mods to support the bigger turbo. Will be running SD and probably dual map Pump 93 and E-85 or unleaded 104.

What should I expect in terms of drivability and power compared to stock turbo. What type of quarter mile times to expect?

About 1000-1500 rpm slower spool and about 12-11,5 sec quater mile...

Get some bigger injectors. 1000cc's will not be enough if you want that turbo to make some big power

I would also go with a bigger fuel pump like a walbro 450 to go along with the larger injectors that are mentioned above. That's if you decide to run e85, if you go with 104 unleaded you'll be okay with what you have.

Agree on upgrading the injectiors. I have the same turbo and cams with 1200 and walbro 450 at around 80% duty cycle.

Honestly I would only need to run higher octane if I go to the track, so for that reason I wouldn't mind spending the extra cash for some unleaded 104/110 race gas. So will I be ok with the ID1000 on the 110 and the walbro255? I can upgrade to the 450 if needed.

If thats the case then you're fine, but you first mentioned E85. If E85 is an option then you'll need bigger injectors. Plus I would run E85 over race gas any day. Similar octane rating for a 1/5 of the cost

Yep you should be able to push the fp Green to its limits with those injectors and a modded walbro 255 on race gas. E85 requires at least 30% more volume, so with the walbro 255 and id 1000 injectors you would probably run out of fuel around 480-500 whp. Even upgrading to a walbro 450 those injectors will still leave you hanging at 500 hp.

I researched the topic alot when doing my Htz green/e85 combo. If you want to run e85 you'll need a walbro 450, a dual voltage rewire and drill out the return siphon. In addition you'll need injectors like fic 1250 or 1450cc low z, or if you can swing the cost, the 1650cc high z would be an even better option.

I'm not trying to sway you away from e85 because i love it and if it's easily found in your area you may find yourself running it more than just at the track. The 450 pump is inexpensive ($100 @ Extreme psi), then $30 for Stm rewire kit. Save $ on injectors by finding a set in the classifieds then maybe sell yours to recoup some costs. The savings in fuel costs (e85 vs 110 oct. gas) would help in the long run as well.

Thanks for the good info. At this point i'm not planning to make crazy power, i'm still on the stock block so not willing to push the car to it's limits. I just want a little quicker than the stock evo 9 turbo. I just want to maximize the this HTA73 bb on pump gas first then go from there. Would not mind running E85 but I would rather just run a higher unleaded gas.

Quicker stoplight to stoplight, highway, or drag racing? Stoplight you'll most likely want to stick to stock turbo.
