Big vs Small throttle body

Ive read a lot of threads and i was just wondering if the hype is reall worth it, im looking at a DI intake manifold after taxs hit and after reading that 3 inch IC pipes are not worth it except for a visual look and actually hurt spool and hp/tq it made me wonder if the boomba throttlebodys are worth the extra money or should i just pick up a brand new OEM throttle body and have BR port it or will the Boomba really make that much more of a difference on a 3582R turbo on a front facing kit or is the factory throttle body the way to go? If you have before and after dyno charts please post those as well, thanks in advance

Does anyone have any actual data, dyno charts, time slips showing a difference?

English racing, buschur and driven innovations are pretty reputable sources to me.

Driven innovations makes both versions(small plenum for the stock throttle body & large plenum for the ford 4.6, boomba etc throttle body's) there answer was talk with your tuner, Buschur promotes the stock throttle body ported because that is what works for him, and English racing also gave a talk with your tuner. I'm looking for actual I have used both and with only switching this one single part out I gained and or lost X amount of hp and TQ. I'm just curious if it's hype and only works if you are some 1000 hp drag only car or if it can work and be worth the cash for cars that are not in the 1000 hp range

If you call english racing there gonna tell you milspec tbody and magnus v5!!Best setup imo then the d.i setup short plenum makes more in the mid but the v5 beats it up top.

If you look on dsmtuners, Lucas (of english racing) did a back to back test of a stock 52mm (or is it 54mm? I forget) 2g TB and a 1g 60mm. He had an appreciable gain IIRC.

I know its not apples to apples, but it was something.

I have a new TB I will be testing shortly too. I should have back to back tests for you. Its 70mm. I would say the stock ported one is great for your turbo though and I think we have them in stock.

Stock ported IMO! I made great power and I use 2 1/2 ic piping. No restrictions yet. Isn't it true that air will only flow as much as the smallest section can? If that's true why have a tb bigger than your intercooler piping which feeds it?

I'm upgrading the turbo a tad as soon as fp sends back my new HTA3586. Thanks for the info though emery, does the throttle body your testing have provisions for the stock IAC motor, is the bolt pattern the same as stock?
