So, are you saying it is fixed? Do you still have noise?

Well, if it went away for awhile and now it is back, in my opinion, it has to be lifters. Anything else would have continued to make noise the entire time.

Are you running on old or fresh oil?

yea thats wut i was thinking but like i was saying before, earlier today i changed the lifters from the original lifters to the zero tick lifters from power division and i thought that wouldve fixed the problem because the noise coming from the lifters made sense to me also because the sound didnt stay, only during acceleration but i have not changed the oil yet but i plan to soon

A DSM I used to drive would go about 1800 miles on an oil change and then the oil would turn black and the lifters would start ticking. It turns out I was using a brand of bad oil with little detergent and the engine was dirty. In 1800 miles the filter would plug and bypass. Later this well known oil company came out with "new improved oil with more detergent".

So, anyway, lifters like clean oil.

If you have cams in the car, sometimes lifter tick can be hard to get rid of.

Other than that, the only thing I can think of is a balance shaft bearing. But those will only make noise when the engine is hot and revved hard. Balance shafts turn at twice engine speed so they really buzz - a noise with four times the frequency of a lifter.

Since you have already driven it for two hours, short of trying the Service Manual cleaning proceedure, I don't know what else you can do. I'd suggest changing oil and driving some more.

I have the same noise and two different tuners told me it was my lifters. I use 20w50 oil in my car because Im using Meth and the lifters sounds loud at first but a few miles in its not as loud. Try also different weight oil.
